STATE OF THE NATION

A Presidents Note

If there was a ladder that could lead you directly to the Bassmaster Classic stage in contention for the trophy, would you climb it? Of course you would!

For many bass anglers, the B.A.S.S. Federation Nation is that ladder.

Although some Federation Nation anglers strive to turn pro someday, others just enjoy the friendly competition at their club level and choose to help show our youth the love of our sport and how to be guardians of our environment.

It has been one year since our National B.A.S.S. Federation was purchased from ESPN. The new trio of owners is now working hard to bring our chapters back and improve to our organization. We are seeing new sponsors being brought into our ranks and many new changes will be coming in the future. I for one think we will all benefit with the new Federation Nation programs.

As most of you know our Federation has 3 goals to provide through our Mi. B.A.S.S. Federation

1)     To hold tournaments for our members.

2)     To teach our youth the importance of our fisheries, sportsmanship and the preservation of our Lakes and streams.

3)     For members to support our conservation efforts and programs.

With the 3rd point in mind our current State Conservation Director Mark Brantmeyer will be vacating the position soon.

Our Federation thanks Mark for all his hard work over the last few years.

I would now ask our members if anyone in our Michigan Federation would like to make a difference in our state conservation efforts to please contact me to fill this position.

In closing, I would like to let our members know that our Chapter has made many improvements since the 2006 split and

we expect to continue to make our Michigan B.A.S.S. Federation Nation the number one leader in bass federations.

Thank you all for your help and support.

Paul Sacks -  Mi. B.A.S.S  Federation State President
