Our Junior State Championship was held Saturday July 17th on Cass Lake and may I say it was one of our best and most greatly appreciated Youth events we have ever put on.  The parents, Junior Anglers and staff had a great time and everyone conducted a first rate, professional style tournament.   We were able to provide the 25 Junior Anglers with over $1,600.00 of gifts, prizes and travel expenses.

Congratulations to our two winning Junior Anglers:

In the 11-14 Age Group, Danny Sprague, Hastings, Michigan, with the Junior Michigan Bass Gang.
In the 15-18 Age Group, Dalton Breckel, Brooklyn Michigan, with the Junior Michigan Bassbusters of Oakland County.

These two Junior Anglers will now be competing on August 13, 2010 at Escanaba, Michigan.  Last year both of our Michigan Junior Anglers won the chance to advance from that event on to attend the Federation Nation Junior World Championship. We hope these two new Michigan State Junior Champions have the same good luck.  With their help our Adult Michigan Bass Federation Northern Divisional Team may again have a chance to win back to back Northern Divisioanl Tournament Titles.

I would like to thank the following people for all they did in helping make this a huge successful event for all of our Junior Anglers and their families:

Barry Narrin and his kids, (our Michigan State Youth Director and Michigan Bass Gang Youth Director)
   Paul Wagner (Tournament Coordinator)
   Camille Delikta (Tournament Official)
Captain Wayne Carpenter (MC of event and a loyal Sponsor)
Jeff Throop (Weigh-in Staff and  Junior Michigan Bass Busters Youth Director)
Greg Choiniere (Junior Michigan Bass Anglers Youth Director)
   Dan Wagner (Weigh-in Staff)
Mr. Ankenbauer (These two gentleman went above and beyond for the kids)
All the Boaters / Captains that took the day to bring their boats out for the tournament for the Junior Anglers to fish
All the parents that helped set up and take down our Tournament equipment.

It was a true pleasure hearing all the positive feedback and thank you's we received from the parents and from the public who attended the event at the park that day.

A special thanks to "The Chicken Shack" for the great Broaster Chicken Dinners.

All in all a Great Day, Great People, Great Food, Great Fun and the best Support Staff of our Federation Nation.

Please Watch our Web Site and Bass Lines Newsletters for pictures and additional follow up stories.

We hope all your Clubs and Junior Anglers can make it to next years Championship.
