WFN is looking at making a contest
for us.
We have been asked to do a survey today as to which cable
provider our members have.
The choices are either Comcast or Charter.
Mike Kujawski will document the choices at roll
call.
They are looking at possibly giving away a rod a month for
a member.

Major Rick Briggs told the
presidents that he is still in need of 25 more boats for the Veterans tournament
on June 11, 2011 that will be held on

the presidents about good group rates on insurance through AFLAC.
Treasurers’ Report:

Paul went over the figures that we currently have in our
accounts
Motion
to accept the Treasurers report was made by Tony Impellizeri and seconded by
Mike Dawson.
Motion passed unanimously.
Scholarship Report:
Paul Sacks
Paul told the presidents that Fund
was put into the new Schuab account.
The current Scholarship total balance was announced.
With the new Schuab account, we will now be able to
write from the new account.
Classic Series Report:
Larry Gargus
Larry told the presidents that he
is currently looking for someone to help out with the trophies for the classic
series.
Larry is looking for any donations.
The
State Championship:
The State Championship will be on
Membership:

Returning members after April 3,
2011 who rejoin will pay a $5.00 late fee. Finalized club rosters must be done
by June 1, 2011.
On-line rosters in red must corrected before
re-entering.
We currently have 479 members.
Newsletter:
Tom Boland
Tom told the presidents that the
cut-off date for the next newsletter will be at the end of September and will go
to print in October.
The current newsletter should be done within a week.
Youth: Barry Narrin/Tom Boland
Barry
told
the presidents that they must provide him with an article and pictures for any
youth event prior to the clubs receiving their funds for the event.
April 30, 2011 will be the Casting Kids State
Championship and it will be held at the

had a huge membership interest at the

Paul highlighted the current
contracts through Mercury, Triton, & Skeeter.
We also still have the Pure Fishing program for the
federation. Federation members can get a 30% discount on product.
Members will be able to purchase up $2500.00 in
product. The
code will be changing. (see your club Pres for code).
New sponsor that came on board are:
Powell Rods, PigSticker Baits, Boat Boys Pro Gear
covers.
We will be selling the covers at a discount of $799.00.
We are currently looking at possibly having The
Country Smokehouse in Almont, Mi as becoming a new sponsor.
As of today the Mercury program is temporarily
suspended.
No one is allowed to purchase any prop, oil, or Quickleen.

Mark showed the presidents
that we have enough lanyards and brochures for the boat shows for the next
couple of years.
**Owner incentive money still
available for Triton, Skeeter, and Nitro owners.
Our Triton/Mercury Alliance Program is good thru
December 31, 2012.
**Skeeter Boats is offering
special pricing to the Federation for one boat only.
The pricing would be :
ZX225
with the SHO motor-$38,000
ZX190 with 175HP-$29,000
ZX180 with 115HP-$24,000
ZX170 with 90HP-$22,500
Please contact Pres Sacks if one of your members
wants our boat. First come
**Paul told the presidents that
(4) Board positions will be up this year.
We will be looking for nominations to fill these
vacancies.
The (4) members whose terms will be up are:
Tom Boland, Sharon Leonardi, Tony Impellizeri, and
Camile Delikta.
**Next years meeting dates will be
10-23-11, 12-4-11, 2-12-12, & 4-22-12 with all locations to be determined.
We moved the April meeting out farther to allow late
clubs joining to attend at least one meeting.
The 50/50 raffle was $197.00
with $98.50 to the winner Danny Hall

Stephen Matous from American
Income Life spoke to the presidents about the “no cost” benefit program (life
insurance policy) members will be receiving.
Information packages will be mailed out in the
coming weeks.
Treasurers’ Report:
Jay Berwick
Jay
handed out copies of the Treasurers report and went over the figures.
Jay told the presidents that he had sent out 1099’s
for all of the Classic and Divisional Team members.

Larry told the presidents
that he had Classic Series applications and to see him after the meeting if
anyone wanted one.
There are no on our web site
for the members.
State Championship:

members on the National and State rosters.
Newsletter:

Tom told the presidents that the
cut-off date for the next newsletter will be March 15, 2011.
Tom
is looking for any information from the clubs to put in the next issue of the
newsletter.
Youth: Barry Narrin/Tom Boland
Barry told the presidents to see
him about starting up a new youth club.
The youth club must have a minimum of
6 members.
April 30, 2011 will be the Casting Kids State
Championship and it will be held at the Gander Mountain in Flint, Michigan.
Barry said he has received no applications yet from
clubs for any youth projects this year.
Barry gave $250.00 to Calhoun County Bass for a
previous youth
project.
Applications for youth projects must be turned into
Barry before the April Presidents meeting.
Junior Club Rosters need to be turned in to Barry by
June 1st. .
Junior State Championship participants must be named
by June 17TH at 5:00PM.

The show dates for 2011 will be as
follows:
Outdoorama in Novi will be February 24-27, and the Ultimate
Fishing show in

program to the Federation from American Life Insurance
**Members will be getting a
letter from B.A.S.S. in approximately one month that will explain the changes
that will happen since the sale of B.A.S.S. by ESPN.

Treasurers’ Report:
Jay Berwick
Jay
went over the balances for our accounts.
Jay conveyed to the Presidents that we will not
always receive the amounts we have in the past.
We need to plan for future years with less revenue.
Currently, the Federation is sitting very well
financially.
Motion
to accept the Treasurers report was made by Mike Mize and seconded by Lupe
Reyes.
Motion passed unanimously.
Scholarship Report:
Jay
Berwick
Jay reported that we currently
have (9) applicants for the scholarships and the scholarship committee voted at
noon today to award 5 scholarships at $600.00 each.
The committee was made up of Paul Sacks, Lupe Reyes,
Larry Gargus, Barry Narrin, and Scott Hoover.
The 5 recipients for scholarships were: Allison
Berwick, Nicole Berwick, Jay Schaffer, Nicole Keifer, and Tim McCafferty Jr.
Three clubs presented checks for the Scholarship
fund.
The clubs were Bass Chasers of
Shiawassee ($50.00), Lake Nepessing ($200.00), and
Michigan Bass Busters ($200.00).
Classic Series Report:

The proposed lakes and dates are
as follows:
June 5, 2011 Lake Charlevoix, July 10,2011 Coldwater Chain,
August 28, 2011
Houghton Lake, and the Classic Series Classic will
be September 11, 2011 on Saginaw Bay out of Linwood Beach Marine.
Larry is looking for any prizes or sponsors for the
Classic Series.
Larry indicated that the late fee for this year will
be $20.00.
Larry said they would pay big bass this year even if the
fish was dead and after the penalty was assessed.
This year we will have one free Classic Series
Classic entry to be raffled off to the teams that pre-registered for all of the
tournaments (early bird drawing).
State Championship:

Newsletter:

Tom announced that the next issue
of the newsletter will be mailed out by December 15th.
The issue cost the Federation approximately
$1400.00.
Tom also indicated we need to invoice all of our
advertisers in the newsletter.
The cut-off date for the next newsletter will be
March 15, 2011.

Barry indicated that the Casting
Kids Championship will by on May 14, 2011.
A location for the event has yet to be determined.
The Federation will continue paying $50.00 to clubs
who hold the Casting Kids events at the shows.
We currently have no clubs that have applied for
youth projects for the up and coming year. This due date is before the April
meeting. Bass
Pro Shops would like to hold the banquet for the Junior State Championship.
They would provide the room but, the Federation
would have to provide the banquet for the kids.
Bass Pro Shops would pass out $10.00 gift cards for
each of the Juniors at the banquet. The banquet will be held on June 25, 2011
and the tournament will be on June 26, 2011 on

Nemmer from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection came to the meeting to
discuss the “Operation Riverwatch” to look for suspicious activity along the
U.S./Canadian Borders along the
Treasurers’ Report: Jay

Jay handed out a treasurer’s report and
went over the figures. He also discussed the Poker
Tournaments we will be holding for the upcoming year.
Jay told the presidents that we received $3,000 from
the town of
Scholarship Report:

Jay reported that we currently have (9) applicants for the
scholarships.
We will award (5) scholarships at $600 each for a total of
$3,000.
Jay has excused himself from being on the committee voting
because he is related to some of the applicants.
It was asked by the board for volunteers to be on
this years committee. The committee for this year will be as follows:
Lupe Reyes
from the Central Michigan Bassmasters, Eugene Franklin from the Detroit Bass
Club, Scott Hoover from the Grand Rapids Basscasters, and Larry Gargus from The
Michigan Bass Gang. The
committee will hold a meeting at noon on December 12 prior to the Presidents
meeting at Bass Pro Shops in
Classic Series Report:

Larry
said the dates that were passed out at the meeting were locked dates for the
upcoming season.
The dates are as follows:
#1 June 5, 2011, #2 July 10, 2011, #3 August 28,
2011 and the Classic Series Championship will be
September 11, 2011.
Larry said we will be looking at choosing tournament
lakes where we can get monies to hold these tournaments.
State Championship:
The
presidents were asked what lake they would like to see the State Championship
held at this year.
There were (2) suggestions and they were

rosters are due at the December Presidents meeting to qualify clubs for next
year.
Online roster through National Bass will be reset on
November 1, 2010.
If a member is highlighted in red, they will not be
able to re-enter them until the problem with their membership is addressed. Have
the Club Pres or the member contact National membership to get

board seats were up for the upcoming year. The replacements for those seats will
be as follows:
Brandon Rose, Jarrod Sherwood, Lupe Reyes, and Larry
Gargus.
All run against unopposed.
** The
presidents voted on the new “Code of Conduct” By-law change.
A roll call vote was taken and the results were (24)
“yes” and “0” no.
** Gerald Woodard spoke to
the presidents about his experiences at the Federation National Championship.
** A
motion was made by the Michigan Bass Masters and seconded by Greater Northwest
Bass Anglers to change our state dues from $25 to $15.
The vote went as follows:
(1) yes and (23) no.
** A
motion was made by Paul Wagner and seconded by Larry Gargus to leave the dues at
$25.
The voted passed unanimously.
** Paul discussed about the
sale of B.A.S.S. from ESPN to the new owners. As more information on this
becomes available it will be provided to the presidents.
** Paul
asked if the clubs would be interested in having a fundraiser raffle next year.
The presidents said if there was something done for
the clubs they would accept having some sort of raffle.
We will discuss this in further detail at the
December Presidents meeting.
** Paul
asked the presidents if they want him to investigate an insurance policy through
